FLORHAM PARK, N.J., July 23, 2019 – The Drywall & Interior Systems Contractors Association of NJ (DISCA) recognized the four recipients of the 2019 DISCA Scholarship at a luncheon at the Park Avenue Club on July 23, 2019.  These four students have earned a four-year, merit-based scholarship to offset some of the college and educational expenses at their chosen collegiate institutions.
Each year, DISCA awards college scholarships to deserving students who demonstrate a positive engagement in community service, strong leadership qualities, activity in extracurricular activities, and strength in academics. According to DISCA Executive Director, Bill Umbach, “Our review process provides secure and confidential selections. DISCA retains a retired educator who evaluates the candidates based on academic record, potential to succeed, leadership, participation in school and community activities, honors, and the candidate’s statement of education and career goals.”  “DISCA received a record number of quality applications for the 2019-2020 scholarships,” Umbach said.  “We are pleased to award this elite group and support their pursuit of education and exploration of career paths.”
